Privacy Policy — Plates to Sheets

Last updated: 27 August 2026

Plates to Sheets is a Chrome extension that helps restaurant partners export order history from Swiggy Partner and Zomato Partner to CSV files on your device. It can optionally also save each export as a spreadsheet in your own Google Drive.

What we collect

The extension stores the minimum data needed to call partner APIs on your behalf:

We do not store full browser cookie strings. Session cookies are read from Chrome at export time and are not uploaded elsewhere.

During export, order and customer fields (such as names, areas, and order details) are processed locally on your device to build the CSV file. This data is not sent to servers operated by the extension author.

Google account access (optional)

The Google Sheets export is off by default. It does nothing unless you tick “Also save to my Google Sheets” and complete Google’s sign-in screen.

When enabled, the extension requests a single scope, https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.file. This scope grants access only to files this extension creates — it cannot read, modify, or even see the rest of your Drive. Each export creates one new spreadsheet inside a “Plates to Sheets” folder in your Drive and writes the same rows as the CSV.

Your order data is sent to Google’s servers, into your own Google account. It is not sent to the extension author or to any other third party. The sign-in token is issued and stored by Chrome itself; the extension never stores, logs, or transmits it, and never sees your Google password.

Plates to Sheets’ use and transfer of information received from Google APIs to any other app will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

You can revoke access at any time with Disconnect Google account in the popup, or from your Google account permissions page. Revoking access does not delete spreadsheets already created — those are yours, in your Drive.

What we do not do

Where data lives

Third-party services

The extension communicates directly with Swiggy and Zomato partner APIs using your logged-in browser session. Their privacy policies apply to data held on their platforms.

If you enable the Google Sheets export, it also communicates with the Google Drive and Google Sheets APIs on your behalf. Google’s privacy policy applies to data held in your Google account.

Permissions

Data retention & deletion

Click Clear credentials in the extension popup to remove stored partner tokens, and Disconnect Google account to revoke Google access. Uninstalling the extension removes extension storage. CSV files you downloaded, and spreadsheets created in your Drive, remain yours and are not deleted.
